Live lobsters should be cooked as soon as possible after delivery for the best eating experience, since they are at peak condition the day they arrive.
If you cannot cook them immediately, keep them in the coldest part of your refrigerator, loosely covered with damp newspaper or a damp cloth to retain moisture, and never submerge them in fresh water or seal them in an airtight container, as either will kill them quickly. Do not store live lobsters in the freezer. Once cooked, lobster meat can be refrigerated in an airtight container and used within 2 days or frozen for longer storage if needed.
